A glimmer of hope for the Sumatran tiger
An increase in tiger numbers on the Indonesian island of Sumatra gives hope to saving this small number of island tigers from extinction. Numbers of tigers have signifigently increased over the past decade to 2015 due mainly to increased protection with regular patrolling helping to slow down illegal habitat encroachment and poaching. >Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park would appear to be a shinning example where regular ranger patrols can turn back the tide of falling wild tiger numbers.
