Return to the Plains of Hortobagy in Hungary

This month with a small group of friends I returned to Hungary where I spent a week photographing some of the many different species of birdlife and fascinating animals including the numerous hares that live in this interesting and beautiful part of Europe. From well sited hides I was able to follow the lifestyle of the wildlife including male Red Footed Falcons and Kestrels as they carefully passed their prey to the females who in turn fed their voracious youngsters that were clamouring for food. The photo shows a Eurasian Roller that had caught a small grass snake to take to its nest.
