Tiger killed by poachers at Panna tiger reserve.
- Posted
Sadly after all the tigers at Panna were wiped out by poachers some 10 years ago and was subsequently re-populated with tigers from other tiger reserves a tiger was kiiled this week by poachers. In this instance it is reported that a 3 year old tiger was victim to a wire trap. The latest stastics show a population and conservation success at Panna of more than 30 tigers within the protected area and that this figure exceeds the carrying capacity with young tigers now moving out of the core area and into the surrounding forests. Worryingly the promised CBI investigation into the loss of Panna's entire tiger population has still not been initiated which begs the question WHY?
