Great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus)

Towards the end of my stay in the Netherlands I spent the best part of the morning photographing a pair of Great crested grebes together with their single chick. They each took turns to carry the chick on their backs and to catch small fish for both the youngster and for the parent carrying the chick.
