Apathy has led to the death of tiger cubs

Eight tiger cubs have died and equal number of cubs removed from the wild, while six mother tigresses have gone missing in separate instances in recent years in Chandrapur, but forest department, particularly the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM), has not learnt any lessons. Wildlife organizations have cried foul over the shoddy protection measures in non-tiger project areas and have reiterated the demand of declaring entire Chandrapur as tiger district and wildlife forest circle, while merging FDCM into territorial forest.
