Five tiger deaths in eight months but highest tiger density in India.

Corbett reports the highest density of tigers in India where numbers have increased from 163 last year to 208 in 2017. However, within the last 8 months 5 tigers have been found dead at Corbett and a total of 12 tigers died in different circumstances throughout Uttarakhand. It is reported in the Hindustan Times that some of the key forest divisions adjoining Corbett including Terai East, Terai West Terai Central, Ramnagar, Haldwani and Lansdown have a healthy population of tigers and provide increased space for tigers to migrate from the Corbett sink population.
