Thriving tigress and her 4 cubs in Kagaznagar
- Posted
An interesting report from the Divisional Officer of Kagaznagar on the well being of a tigress known as Phalguna and her 4 cubs in his forest division. In the past 5 months over 30 cattle have been killed by the tigers due mainly to the lack of available prey species in this area of forest. Compensation to local farmers is being paid within 1 week of a cattle kill and therefore local people do not have the same problem that exists in other areas where payment for cattle loss due to big cat kills takes considerably longer to be received.
