Tigers roam unseen in the wild as lockdown keeps tourists out of the reserves

The lockdown may have caused lot of hardships to ordinary people but it has brought some good fortune to wildlife especially tigers.  The State of Karnakaka has 5 tiger reserves including Nagarahole and Bandipur with a total of 524 tigers and 6,049 elephants withinin the 5 reserves.  'Heavy movement of safari vehicles and tourists, especially during the weekends in Bandipur and Nagarahole has caused stress on the tigers.  Such stress causes a reduced life span of animals in the reserves' said Krithika Alanahally the wildlife warden of Mysuru.
