Good news for the tiger population in Rajasthan

It is reported that 49 tiger cubs have been born at the tiger reserves of Rajasthan in the last 6 years, where the State is now home to a total of 85 tigers. This number is broken down to 70 big cats at Ranthambhore, 14 in Sariska and a recently translocated male tiger to the Mukundara Hills tiger reserve. Of the 49 cubs that have been born 40 of these have been born to tigresses at Ranthambhore since 2013. The emphasis now has to be on creating safe forest corridors for tigers to disburse between the reserves. More on this interesting report can be found by following the link below.
