
State Government of MP suspends relocating more tigers to Odisha

The Madhya Pradesh state government have put on hold the relocation of 4 tigers to Odisha's Satkosia Tiger Reserve. The decision is due to reports of resentment among forest dwellers that the 2 tigers already relocated in the first phase have a history of attacking humans. In June of this year a pair of tigers from Kanha and Bandhavgarh Tiger reserves in MP were moved to help increase the small number of remaining big cats in Odisha. MP's chief wildlife warden is reported as saying that 'shifting of other tigers depend on the response of the other 2 tigers sent earlier'. More on this report can be seen by following the link below.
