55 Tigers recognised on camera traps at Sathymangalam tiger reserve

In the Indian State of Tamil Nadu 55 tigers have been recognised using camera traps in the first ever excercise of this methodology. In addition 11 tiger cubs were also recorded. Besides tigers the park which spreads over about 1411.60sqkm is also home to elephants, leopards, wild boar, stripped hyenas and numerous species of deer.
