Ranthambhore May 2013
- Posted
I returned home on the 25 May after a successful three week visit to Ranthambhore. My visit was tinged with sadness over the tragic loss of Sundari (T.17) the tigress that had dominated the area of the lakes and had given birth to three cubs about a year ago. Although not confirmed it appears that she was either poached or killed by villagers. Her former home range has now been taken over by her sister Krishna (T.19) who I saw many times during my visit. The good news is that Machali (T.16) seen above and now about sixteen years of age is well and without canines still managed to make a kill of an adult Sambar deer during my stay. Photos relating to this visit can be seen by following this 'LINK' to the Picture Gallery section.
