Iceland in December 2013

Iceland in December 2013

I returned from a short trip to Iceland in December, where I had been hoping to photograph the Aurora Borealis.  This did not come to fruition and It was disappointing for me at my particular site but apparently others in the north of the island were successful.  I was, however,  able to photograph the dramatic Icelandic scenery.   A small selection of photographs from the trip can be seen by following this
My wonderful 7 day visit in October 2013 to The Pantanal and 3 days at Iguassu Falls

My wonderful 7 day visit in October 2013 to The Pantanal and 3 days at Iguassu Falls

My seven day visit to The Pantanal and a subsequent three days at the Iguassu Falls was amazing. At The Pantanal I was lucky to see the rare and endangerd Jaguar each day and on one day my small group saw three different Jaguars. During our visit our small boat stopped along the river at the headquarters of Panthera where we met two senior members of staff who gave us an insight into the important conservation work that they are carrying out in helping to save the Jaguar from this region of Br ...

Svalbard, The Arctic - August 2013

Svalbard, The Arctic - August 2013

It was my third visit to this area, Svalbard; a stepping stone enabling me to spend time with wildlife varying from polars bears, walrus, reindeer, Arctic foxes and whales to many different bird species.  The scenery was magnificent with my ship passing huge glaciers and rugged, snowy mountains. The main purpose of the trip was to photograph polar bears again and I was not disappointed.  A selection of my images can be seen by following the LINK to the Pict ...

Scotland and the Osprey

Scotland and the Osprey

I enjoyed my first visit to Scotland in July 2013 where I spent most of my time photographing the Osprey. This bird of prey is superb at diving from the sky to the water below in an effort to catch fish. I took some interesting action photos of the bird as it hit the water and with its fearsome tallons hooked out a trout or salmon from the water.  Many more photos can be viewed in the 'Galler' section of this site.  ...

Ranthambhore May 2013

Ranthambhore May 2013

I returned home on the 25 May after a successful three week visit to Ranthambhore.  My visit was tinged with sadness over the tragic loss of Sundari (T.17) the tigress that had dominated the area of the lakes and had given birth to three cubs about a year ago. Although not confirmed it appears that she was either poached or killed by villagers. Her former home range has now been taken over by her sister Krishna (T.19) who I saw many times during my visit. The good news is that Macha ...

Golden Eagles and Goshawk of Norway - February 2012

Golden Eagles and Goshawk of Norway - February 2012

In February I returned to Norway for one week concentrating my efforts from a hide in photographing the mighty Golden Eagle on a snow covered mountain.  In addition and from a hide deep in the forest I managed to take photographs of the beautiful and rare Goshawk. Before leaving Norway I was also able to take images of Wolves, Lynx and Moose amongst the snow covered terrain-all of which can be seen by following this 'Link' to the 'Picture Gallery' ...

Ranthambhore May 2012

Ranthambhore May 2012

This visit to Ranthambambhore was to be the last time that I was to see and photograph one of my favourite tigress's  known as T.17.  She was one of three female cubs born to Ranthambhore's famous tigress 'Machali' in 2006.  My jeep discretly followed her on a number of ocassions from the lakes to high ground where it became obvious that she was returning to her litter of tiny cubs. The photograph shows this beautiful tigress as she was about to join her well hid ...

Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Parks, USA-September / October 2011

During Autumn I travelled through the States of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming to spend time photographing the beautiful scenery and wildlife in these wonderful parks.  Due to the unseasonally warm weather many of the animals that I had hoped to see remained on high ground but the magnificent scenery and changing Autumn colours was beathtaking. A small number of my photographs can be seen by following this 'LINK' to the Gallery section of my website.  ...

White Tailed Eagles of Norway-July 2011

White Tailed Eagles of Norway-July 2011

With most of the tiger reserves In India closed until after the monsoon I took the opportunity to fly to Norway in July for 5 days to photograph the White Tailed Eagles on the Norwegian fjords. I was extremely lucky to see and photograph these magnificent raptors as they soared in the sky close to my boat and then dived to catch fish in the water below.  A small selection of my photographs can be seen by following this 'LINK' to the Picture Gallery secti ...

Ranthambhore - May 2011

Ranthambhore - May 2011

I departed for India on 6 May returning once again to Ranthambhore National Park where I remained for almost three weeks.  It was a wonderful experience to return to the tiger reserve that means so much to me and which I have visited many times over the past few years.  I enjoyed many memorable tiger sightings totalling twelve different tigers seen within the tourist area of the park during this visit. Of particular interest to me was seeing the well known and now aged tigress T.16 ( ...
